January 2010 Newsletter
2010 is here, and it brought along a number of new editions. SOLAS and GMDSS have been updated to 2009, as well as the US Regulations for Navigation and Navigable Waters (33 CFR). Four new titles for deck officers have been released by Witherby Seamanship International ("Witherby" for short), and two of them are focused on the oil tanker trade.

New SOLAS Consolidated 2009 is here
The 2009 Consolidated edition of the SOLAS Convention is now available. This edition includes all amendments that were in force on July 1, 2009, and therefore replaces SOLAS Consolidated 2004, Amendments 2003-2005, and Amendments 2006.
Note: SOLAS Amendments 2006 contains some amendments which will not enter force until July 1, 2010. These amendments were not included in SOLAS Consolidated 2009, but will be published in the forthcoming SOLAS Amendments 2010 (expected July 2010). For easy reference, we have made available on our website a PDF of those amendments.

2009 Edition of 33 CFR now shipping
Title 33 of the US Code of Federal Regulations contains all US regulations dealing with Navigation and Navigable Waters in three volumes. The US Coast Guard, the Army Corps of Engineers, and the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corp. jointly are responsible for its content. The 2009 Edition contains all regulations finalized as of October 1, 2009
